Testshot F31FD with Wide Lens

I will stop updating the brainwalker blog cause i have a new domain and a new blogname appropriate to the occasion. So please visit www.timelock.in or www.timelockin.wordpress.com . Information about modding of the F31FD and other stuff will be continued on the new places.

Thanks for your interest until now.

Here are some more wide angle testshots made between the opening of the exibition “radical advertising”.

Using Filters with my modding setup is no problem. But there are some limitations for using Wide Lenses. Cause if you hold the F31Fd into the sun the front metal of the camera lens throws reflections to the backside of the Wide Lens. I have fixed this by using a ND Filter at the same time. Or by taking photos with the sun in the back. First solution (the combination between ND-Filter and Wide Lens) have a good side effect. Cause the F31Fd sometimes have problems in broad daylight and so this can be fixed too. The Wide Lens i have taken from ebay was very cheap. And you can see that it have a circular sharpness loss to the boarders. But to make a general setup tests it is good enough.

hi, my friend has an original 21mm convertor for the ricoh gr digital (GW1). the convertor has sharpeness edge-to-edge. do you think it can be modded to use with the f31fd perhaps with the adaptor set you have?

also, how is it possible to use 52mm polarisers with the adaptor?

I think the 21mm of the GW1 is the focal length and not the dimension of the connection thread.
The adapter i use now have a original 37mm thread. So you can work with every 37mm filter or converter. Or with a threatextension from 37mm to what ever you need. Only problem of this way is that you change a little bit the distance between the last lens of your camera and the first of your converter/filter. And for that i can`t give you any warranty if wide converter results are perfect. Polarfilters are not the problem. They must work ok.
I think if you will use converters with other threat dimension then 37mm cause you have it in your stock you have to work with an filteradapter on which you can change the distance. Have a look at my moddingset http://www.flickr.com/gp/41157095@N00/s5Pm5r

The first adapter can be adjust in high and distance. It is not so solid but more flexible.
You can find this stuff on ebay.
